Housing Services for the Homeless

Making a Home and Getting an Education

Lil' Audrey's Safe Place provides a safe home and helps to secure post-secondary education opportunities for young people who’ve aged out of the foster care system. We establish housing in communities around colleges and universities and make sure the children get three meals a day and all the support services they need.

We strive to mentor the kids as they transition to living their lives after Lil Audrey's Safe Place.

What We Do

  • Take 40 to 100 kids to events each year
    • The Nutcracker
    • The Super Bowl
    • Other professional ball games and events
  • Funded through private donations and government grants
  • Provide a place for women formerly in foster care and their children
  • Help to finish high school or night school and go on to college or technical training
  • Work with government agencies to change foster care laws
  • Coordinate tutoring for the kids
  • Get the foster youths enrolled at Texas Southern University and St. Thomas University
  • Take the foster kids to visit nursing schools

Fundraising Activities

Our major fundraiser each year is a fashion show with foster kids who model award-winning designer clothes. Models from Tyra Banks and other professionals judge the event. To make the event even more special, we bring in Emmy Award-winning jazz artists to entertain.

We also organize clothing drives for underprivileged kids in the Houston area.

Finally, we're opening a restaurant to raise money for our projects and to feed the hungry.
